About Me

The "Sentimental Vanity" CD is out and you can get it at .. Also from from jamrecordings.com, garagedor.com, gojohnnygo.com. Here's what reveille.com has to say: "There aren't a lot of artists out there as wantonly eclectic as Terry Eason who also boast such a sharp ear for pop and melody... He's a seasoned pro who's managed never to lose his fascination with how pop gets made, and Sentimental Vanity is more evidence that he's one of the Twin Cities music scene's unheralded gems." Steve McPherson ============================================================ ================================ Here's stuff other people said at other times: "He's been called the one-man Elephant Six Collective of Minneapolis, an understated sound-tinkerer and our scene's most modest indie-prog guitar hero." --City Pages. ================================================Some bands I've played in that you may never have heard of were called North Equator Nine, the Form, Babylon Pink, Spades, Ultrasonics, New Primitives, Barking Ocelots and others. In the 1990s I did a lot of other performing and recording with other bands (Dylan Hicks, Rhea Valentine, etc., even was nominated for MMA's Electric Guitarist of the Year -- what a great time). Also been doing the "home recording" thing forever too, well before it was called "lo-fi". For the new millineum I've continued doing sideman work (w/Suburbs, Chan Poling etc.) recording/producing, releasing records and confounding critics. Though it certainly could be categorized as "pop", the music sometimes defies easy description. Rift Magazine referred to one my albums as "Songs of pure pop genius", but I also like to do weird improvisational guitar and aural soundscapes (is aural soundscapes redundant?). Here's how the Bees Knees 'zine summed it: "He could make a record in almost any style and it would be all gold... This guy can do it all!" Check out terryeason.com for full discography and lots more reviews. blah bla blah and um. Meow...
