First off, you have to see Rubin & Ed by Trent Harris, it's a classic. This power trio serves up space rock with a side of noise pop for the kids, playing tunes with hypnotic noise swirling about their knees with shoegazer/noise pop/alt country roots. A figment of Trey's imagination that came to fruitition when he moved back to Utah in 2001 playing Tom and Steve demo tapes made along the way while traveling the country titled 'The Echo People' from Rubin and Ed by Trent Harris www.echocave.net .
The first live show we played was November 2nd 2005 at Ego's opening for Last Response (Ex-Spirtualized) and LP from New York (Camper Van Beethoven/Craker relations). We were lucky enough to get an opening spot for Hopewell (Ex-Mercury Rev)practically played a private show, we love that band and we were glad they stuck around. The highlight of 2006.
Most of the time we are hiding in the Echo Cave recording or we can be found on top of a mountain. We were able to get some help in the studio from Jonathan Segel (CVB) and Seth Tevin (Dumptruck) which comsumed most of 2007. A live DVD was recorded August 2nd, 2007 before Trey moved to Colorado. The last live shows we played on February 2nd & 3rd 2008 at Artopia where we got the crowd of underage coffee drinkers dancing and the last show we played at the Sandy Station to our friends who supported us over the years. And there is a covers record of some of our favorite songs from those who have influenced us in some way musically.
Live DVD now available "White Light Experience" footage takenon August 25, 2007 at 5 Monkeys, plus rehearsal outage and in the studio.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: http://www.freewebs.com/echopeople
Band Members: Trey Bruschke plays with himself (literally) using guitars, samplers and various time machines. Rickenbacker, Fender, Del Rey, Martin and Alvarez acoustic guitars.

Steve Takahashi's from the planetary system Zetarticuli, his mom was courted by Jimy Hendrix and Bruce Lee in High School with some residual effects on his psyche and Fender Jazz Bass playing.

Tom Harrison Calder has your lighter and is one of those spaztic drummers that lays down the law on his Swingstar kit.

Certain "Echo People" were kind enough to give their time and talents in a time of need. In which we will be forever greatful.

Jonathan Segel of Camper Van Beethoven is awesome - violin and slide guitar 'Hangman', 'Punkin' & 'Mile Marker 69'.

Seth Tiven of Dumptruck is totally awesome - lead guitar 'I need Yer Hep'.

Micheal Graves of Da Neighbors - lead guitar 'Effigy'.

'Douche Rocket' M'alocholic who was in the room at the time and just kind of noodled around on guitar on 'Home'.
Influences: Nasty little grays, Zacharia Sitchin books, following old dead shoegazer bands: Acetone (God bless Richie Lee), the Darkside, the Church, Codiene, Galaxie 500, Green Milk from the Planet Orange, Spaceman 3, Swervedriver, Spirtualized, Hopewell, Mercury Rev, My Bloody Valentine, Dream So Real, Dumptruck, Soul Asylum, Sunny Day Real Estate, Levitation, House of Love, Ride, Jeff Buckley, Monks of Doom, Camper Van Beethoven, Failure, Swell and American Music Club.
Sounds Like: The Echo People obviously, the big bang delayed over and over again. We currently have 4 LP releases available:

'Inside Out' rock on the A-side, roll on the B-side. Early songs written as a 3 piece that we had to clear out of the attic before moving on. Or just the Inside EP, A-sides only $2.50.
'Upside Down' hard rawk on the A-side and serious roll on the B-sides. To show exactly how dynamic of a band we really are and the emotional extremes we go through to get there. Yeah it's a bit bi-polar but for $5.00 you get a little bit of everything. Or the "Upside EP" Asides to rawk the house for $2.50.

'&' A-sides with a special guest cameo by Jonathan Segel of Camper Van Beethoven showing our alt-county roots as well as something for yer mom for $2.50.
'Backwards' B-sides is an outakes disc of material from 2004 to 2006 for $5.00.
'Tribunal' new material recorded in early 2007 with special guest, Seth Tiven of Dumptruck. This is our plea that you actually give this band yer time and attention documenting the changing pace of the world around us. Inspired by Aron Ralston's book "Between A Rock and a Hard Place", Ron Graves, Naveah Gallagos, William Shea Bruschke, Richie Lee of Acetone (may they all rest in peace) and life changing events that sneak up on us in life. That's right just $5.00 bucks. Or buy them all for $20.00 for 4 full length CD's as we have more in the can waiting to be heard and produced all covers record.
