Edgardo Rigaud es reconocido por su desempeño como guitarrista, arreglador y director musical de varios grupos y espectáculos musicales. Ha participado como músico en obras de teatro y películas uruguayas. Realizó una intensa actividad en Holanda donde residió varios años, integrando distintos grupos de jazz, flamenco y música latina, participando en festivales de jazz y realizando giras por Europa y Asia. Desarrolla actividad docente. Born in Montevideo, Uruguay. ............................................................ ...........................From an early age he received classical guitar education from the most recognized local teachers. This was complemented with subsequent studies including harmony, arrangement and composition at Berklee School. Edgardo participates in many jazz and bossa nova festivals working with local bands, and also works as a “session musician” with important orchestras in the area preparing musical arrangements. He is in high demand as a musician and arranger and has participated in many theatre plays, TV shows, and movies. In the 90’s Edgardo was based in Amsterdam, Holland, where he performed with a variety of Latin jazz groups touring Europe. In 1995 he played at the Marco Polo Hotel in Singapore with a reknown group of Cuban musicians and in 1996 at an Indonesian restaurant chain in Jakarta and Bali with another group of musicians from Spain. When he returned to Montevideo in late 1996, he began integrating various Brazilian bands and making records with his own compositions. Since 2003 he has performed annually with Elena Mañosa at the Four Seasons Hotel in Carmelo Uruguay. They can also be seen appearing together in important events at hotels in Montevideo and Punta del Este, in addition to many other venues like theatres, restaurants and pubs. In March of 2007 they performed together at the Oriental Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand for four months, and before the year ended, they were there again to perform during the festive season. In September of 2007 they made a presentation at the Embassy of Brazil in Montevideo, Uruguay. Throughout all his musical career he has taught at many local music schools.
