I enjoy meeting people and helping people. I enjoy a challenging conversation and am always open to new ideas. HOW I GOT STARTED: Like many of you, I tried many things before I finally found my passion. Growing up as a young man, I struggled through school, got into lots of fights and graduated. My first attempt to succeed began around the age of 6 when I began playing peewee football & little league baseball. I tried these sports for several years and did very well, I might add, before moving on to taekwando. I had a knack for this sport and won around twenty-five, 1st & 2nd place trophies as I progressed and my belt colors changed. Around the age of 14, I discovered boxing. My father hired a professional boxing coach and drove me to Little Rock, Arkansas weekly for training. I won several local boxing matches before participating in out-of-state tournaments. I won a Golden Glove boxing tournament and met and took photographs with Olympic boxing champion, Jermaine Taylor. I participated in the Jr. Olympics boxing tournament and lost. I was so disappointed at my loss, that I ended by boxing career. I have always been harder on myself and when I failed at something, I felt as if I had let everyone down. I have lived in Texarkana, Texas all of my life, with my Mother, my brother Breon & my sister Frederica. My mother & father divorced when I was around 5. I think I began rebelling then. We had a pretty modest up bringing, with my mother struggling, working 2 jobs sometimes while attending college, so that we could have nice things. We were not rich by a long shot, but we did not do without much of what we needed or wanted. My mother, my father, by brother and my sister (Frederica), supported me in anything I tried and attended tournaments and contests wherever and whenever I participated. I moved to South Carolina with my father & stepmother in 2002, but that was a short-lived situation. I had intentions to join the Marine Corps upon graduation from high school, but then I came back to Texarkana and began writing, recording and selling my CD’s in front of the local stores. I have always had a message in my heart. When I would attend church with my mother, I always had something to say and she would try and make me sit down and not make a speech every Sunday. Ms. Manley (a family friend) would see my mother trying to keep from making my speech & she (Ms. Manley) would tell my mother to let that boy say what’s on his mind. My father gave me the money for my first recording session. I recorded 4 underground CD’s in a 5-year span; (The Message/What The Streets Wanted/USOC & In The Zone). I was the opening act for Marvin Sease & Willie Clayton at my family’s park (Coleman’s Park). My mother sponsored me, having 500 copies of my CD printed with a tight CD cover, hiring 5 dancers, furnishing wardrobes for me and all 5 dancers and making sure that the dancers sold my CD’s at the concert. With the money I earned from these shows, I purchased a ticket to New York City in September 2006, where I took to the streets of New York, trying to get my music heard. I walked the streets of Time Square, where I sold CD’s, met new people and just basically tried to get my foot in the door of the music industry. Needless to say, I failed. My mother sent for me & I came back to Texarkana, Texas, with a bad attitude and trouble found me. I struggled with my failures and went to jail. I hated being in jail & vowed to not ever be incarcerated again. I resumed selling my CD’s in front of the local markets to try and pay restitution or should I say probation fees for my past indiscretions & was even able to purchase my first car all by myself (A Black 1989 Cadillac Sedan Deville). I started making enough money to survive because my mother kept on me to get a job. She would tell me several times a day (man don’t work, don’t eat). I thought she had stopped loving me, but I am just now beginning to really understand what she wanted for me. I still don’t like it, but I understand. The local police department would search me making sure I had CD’s in my backpack and not drugs. One officer even went so far as to make me rap on side of the road. He said, “Oh so you’re a rapper, then rap for me”, and I did. I think they finally started to get used to the idea that I was serious about my career and they stopped messing with me so much. Some of the local merchants even allowed me to stand on their property and sell my CD’s. While standing in front of a corner store (Fast-N-Low) in early December 2007, in Texarkana, Texas, I met a young lady by the name of Jackie who wanted my CD but she told me that she did not have the funds to buy it at the time. She told me that she had an older brother who owned a major recording company and that she would call him so that he could hear my CD. She called him from the pay phone and allowed me to speak with him. Even though he told me he would be in town on December 16, 2007, he later told my mother that he told his sister that he was not interested. I had been praying a lot, loosing a lot of sleep and watching TV ministries. I started corresponding with Bishop Jordan from Zoë ministries in New York, New York, after my failed visit there in 2006, hoping that he could put me in touch with Russell Simmons. I received my own personal prophecy from Bishop Jordan on 12-28-2006, almost 1 year prior to meeting Jackie and he (Bishop Jordan) told me that my life would change around December 18, 2007. He also told me about by rough time in 2007 & true enough, I went to jail. When Mr. Catron did not show up in Texarkana on December 16, 2007, I almost gave up. But on December 18, 2007, (the very day that Bishop Jordan had told me) he (Mr. Catron) came to town and invited me to have lunch with him at the Olive Garden restaurant. He invited me to sit down and eat with him and I declined. I told him I just wanted him to listen to my CD and I left it there with him. My mother didn’t think I was learning when she was teaching (preaching), but I was. I wasn’t going to be rude and interrupt Mr. Catron’s lunch. He listened to my CD, called me & offered me a 2-year exclusive contract with his label. He met me later that evening at my mother’s entertainment center to confirm his offer and HERE I AM. ALL PRAISE & THANKS TO MY LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST.
