About Me
Possessing an ever-growing passion for hip-hop, Young Thunder was born on March 21, 1989 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was inspired by many of the biggest names in the past, such as Tupac Shakur, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, and many other artist who have had a great impact on hip-hop and rap history.
At ten, he found he had a talent as a lyricist and decided to pursue music professionally. Putting his skills to the test, he entered into various talent shows and competitions. He found lyrics alone would not be enough for the “IT†factor.
Shortly thereafter, he began working with Victor Brown, his good friend who knew the art of performing. With time, practice and perseverance, Young Thunder has become a great performer. As he sharpened his skills as a lyricist and performer, the next step was to lay down his material as a recording artist.
After meeting E-one, a talented artist and producer at Mobb Music Studios. Young Thunder immediately went into the studio to work on his first album titled “The Midwest Takeoverâ€.
Shortly after the completion of “The Midwest Takeover,†Young Thunder entered a talent show where he performed his first single “Put Your Hands Upâ€. Here, he would win second place, following three first place wins.
During a party after the showcase, he was shot in the abdomen. He was immediately taken to the hospital, where he faced the struggle between life and death. Thankfully the surgery had a successful outcome, though there would be many trials ahead; as not all damage could be repaired with one procedure. But even after all those problems, and the support of his family pushing him to stay focused, he was still determined to continue his music career.
More determined than ever to show the world what he is made of, Young Thunder took to his rehabilitation with pure optimism.
With a whole new chapter to inspire him, he began working on his album tiled “Born 2 Killâ€; Although the title can be misleading, his actual meaning was to kill the mic.
With “Born 2 Kill†Young Thunder paints a picture of his life’s story.
With the support of his family and friends; Young Thunder has his sights set on a life making music to inspire and motivate others to follow their dreams.
