About Me

Thelma Guyton is one of this generation’s most artistic and anointed vocalists to hit the gospel industry. Over the years, Thelma has developed a unique passion for being an inspiration to others through music ministry. Miss Guyton was born and raised in Norfolk, VA where she began singing in church at the tender age of one. Her mom began to notice a special gifting when Thelma would often grab the microphone to sing solos in the midst of choir rehearsals without being prompted to do so. Shortly after, her mom began seeking public exposure, with Thelma making her first public appearance at age nine. Thereafter, Thelma developed a passion for music and continued to strengthen her skills by performing at various events and recording with several artists and producers. At the tender age of 14, Thelma was a contestant on Showtime at the Apollo. After receiving the highest number of votes and winning the kid’s segment of the show, she continued on to become a Bad Boy artist only two years later. As part of the Bad Boy Gospel Project, the single "You" featuring Thelma, Carl Thomas, Faith Evans, Hezekiah Walker, and P.Diddy, was released in 2001 on Bad Boy Entertainment. Thelma went on to arrange and record vocals on the song titled "A Promise" featured on Carl Thomas’ “Let’s Talk About It” album. She also co-wrote and arranged for pop sensation Dream on the song titled “Crazy” by the platinum recording group. Over the years, Miss Guyton has had the opportunity to write for, and work with the likes of Fred Hammond, Faith Evans, 112, Ne-Yo, Jack Knight, Mario Winans, Coko, Big Drawz, Loon, Juanita Wynn, and P.Diddy while developing her own artistry. In 2006 after dedicating her life to Christ as a born again Christian, Thelma made a conscious decision to exclusively devote her gifting to the up-building of God’s Kingdom. Since making this life changing decision, Thelma has continued to write and record music that encourages her peers to overcome the physical and mental expectations that society has set. While performing and opening for various national artists such as Da Truth and Youthful Praise, Thelma’s exuberant stage energy and presence continues to set the standard for spreading the gospel and inspires her generation to move full speed ahead in confidence, in unity, and in faith.Thelma’s main goal is offer up praise while encouraging others by using a contemporary sound of gospel music influenced by her own generation. While focusing on the uplifting of young women, she prides herself in being an ambassador for Christ and counts it a rare privilege to be able to minister through musical offerings.
