THE RAZOR BOYS

The year was 1975 and the Atlanta music scene was in flux - Southern Rock was giving way to MOR bands & disco was on the airwaves and in the nightclubs...and ...the new wave summer of Punk was born in the UK via NYC. In these high fast times...RONNIE RAZOR guitarist/singer/songwriter with DEE MINOR on bass originated THE RAZOR BOYS....Atlanta's premier gutter glam hard rock band. Performing as a trio with RICHARD RONK on drums....the music was furious ...hard fast & LOUD!! THE RAZOR BOYS grew with the addition of CHAZ WESTBROOK as lead vocalist & BOBBY WERBLIN took over on drums. The shows were dirty, hot & sweaty - pushing the band and the audience to a fever pitch. THE RAZOR BOYS high energy rock & glam looks left much of the Atlanta music press & critics lost in a media blitz of punk rock fenzy. The shows got wilder & more decadent and dangerous. The Big Dipper on Ponce De Leon / Uncle Tom's Cabin in Stone Mountain / the Wrecking Ball in Buckhead and CW Shaws / Rosie's Cantina...all before the SEX PISTOLS played Atlanta!! Some studio work produced songs 'WOLF SPIDER' & 'LONG DISTANCE' which would become an independant 45 rpm single XYZ : THE LATE GREAT RAZOR BOYS and midwest and east coast tour shows with THE RAZOR BOYS openning for THE RAMONES @ SOAP FACTORY Staten Island and The DAVID JOHANSEN BAND @ TOADS New Haven and at the Atlanta Agora with THE DEAD BOYS and AC/DC with Bon Scott. THE RAZOR BOYS remained unsigned to a major label. By the end of 1979 the end was near.
