Hailing from The Kawartha Lakes, all three members went to the same high school and played several shows together in separate bands. As their bands dissolved they decided to form a band of their own. The rock trio formed a cover band in 2006. After enjoying a great deal of success playing cover tunes band mates Chris Herlihey (drums), Tom Jilesen (Bass) and Kyle Knowles (vocals) began writing their own tunes. After a brief hiatus in 2007, while the singer spent some time overseas. The band refocused their efforts and recorded their first album. With influences ranging from hard rock and alternative to Celtic and classical, Abide By boasts a wide array of musical styles to please most fans. From the smooth bass styling of “The suit” to the rhythmic death blues of “Twelve Thousand Pounds” their first album leaves you wanting more. With deadly percussion, slick bass lines sinister vocals Abide By is ready to rock.
