Hailing from the windy city of Chicago, Failed Resistance has emerged as a five-piece powerhouse of sound, impressing music lovers of all genres. With their latest release of "Kill Her While She's Young", fans of punk, hardcore and thrash will definitely have something to talk about. Composed of front man and lead vocalist Jahsh Nutting, who is backed by guitarist Jake Youngberg, bassist Marty Petric and drummer Bob Grannum, this notorious five-piece formed a band that would forever change the local scene of hometown New Lenox and eventually Chicago. After forming in 2001, Failed Resistance quickly established a reputation of a wild, energetic street punk band, performing for sold out crowds all over the Chicago land area. The band quickly recorded "Dead City", an eight-song demo. To support this album, the band went on an East Coast tour, performing for crowds all over New York, Boston, Philadelphia, and many other major cities. Failed Resistance received a great response for such a young band, and things were definitely proving to look uphill. In 2002, Failed Resistance went back to the studio to record "Silence is Suicide", which was once again self-released. S.I.S. was 10 original songs with a slight change in direction. Though they still held on to their punk sound and image, they began combining their punk influences with their other influences, making for a diverse and interesting album. There’s a touch of emo and thrash within their hard-hitting punk guitars and vocals.FR decided to once again tour the East Coast, and had a successful tour. They met tons of people and sold many copies of both of their cds, doing an excellent job of promoting themselves without the aid of management. Failed Resistance also recorded four songs for their split record with the Southside Chicago punk band, the Invectives, released on Slainte Records. Unfortunately, lead guitarist Deadend Dave left the band shortly afterwards. After a short set of auditions, Tim Ficker quickly made his way into the band. His metal guitar work and influences allowed the band to experiment with new directions of music, resulting in the 10-track masterpiece "Kill Her While She's Young". Considered to be the bands finest work to date, "Kill Her While She's Young" contains shredding guitar solos, pounding drums, powerful and emotional lyrics and the over all energy that only Failed Resistance could generate.Failed Resistance started their first West Coast tour in 2004, and with amazing results. Touring with long-time friends The Street Brats, Failed Resistance played for excited crowds in San Francisco, Denver, Seattle and many other major cities all over the West Coast. While performing on the later half of the tour, Captured Records had scouts in the audience to see this "Chicago Phenomenon". Captured was so impressed with FR that they were signed on the spot to their label.Sadly, FR had parted ways with bassist Marty Petric shortly after his tour. In addition, Tim Ficker was let go of, due to his decreased dedication. Although Petric's position on bass was quickly filled by Pat Dziallo, the band decided to feature Youngberg as the bands only guitarist. The band was extremely impressed with his dedication and progress with guitar that they are now confident as a four-piece.Unfortunately, Failed Resistance was experiencing problems with their label, Captured Records. Captured wasn't there enough for the band; Failed saw a great lack of tour support and distribution, so they decided to part ways and begin the search for a new label. Luckily, the band has many factors working for them, such as having recorded and released 3 cds without label support, the band has also sold out many shows across the United States on their several tours. Failed has earned a name for themselves locally in Chicago and many other cities across the country. With all this and the most loyal fan base around, Failed Resistance has the potential to rise above the rest and become the next big sensation from Chicago.
