Recently, Barry Blends has had THE HOTTEST PROMO SONG running on commercial radio for Power 105.1 FM in New York for the Ed Lover Show which was Ed's official theme song, but this aint nuthin new to Blends. Formally known as MC Barry, he has done promo songs for the biggest radio stations in New York such as Hot 97, WBLS, 98.7 Kiss FM, etc. for radio jocks such as Red Alert (Thanks for startin me off pop ! ), Ed Lover & Dr. Dre, Curt Flirt (My Big Brother), Fatman Scoop, Monie Love, Wendy Williams, Angie Martinez, Funkmaster Flex, Bugsy, Dj Ace, Dj Scribbles, Buddah Brothers of 103 Jamz in Virginia, & the list goes on & on. Barry's music pushes the envelope because he tends to stray away from the normal gangsta, killin, drug dealin type of music. Instead, Barry makes songs with clever concepts, funny lyrical punchlines, but still street, yet still radio friendly with hot beats & baselines. Barry also has a song called Red Alert is a bum on Dj Red Alert's last compilation album titled Kool Dj Red Alert presents ( 1st song on side B, & .. 8 on the cd ) , but makin hot records is'nt the only talent Barry possess ! He's also a dj going under the name Dj Barry Blends & is one of the last few dj's who still actually Blends records & make djing an exciting thing to watch. Keeping people on the dancefloor is BB's objective ! Since the age of 10, Blends has been cuttin & scratchin on the 1&2's. As a dj, he has played at places such as Justins(P. Diddy), 40/40 Club(Jay-Z), Opal, Village Lantern, Blvd, Inkwell, Suzie Wong, Remy Lounge, The City, Plumm, Rogue, Wish 26, Joe's Pub, SOB's, Rebel, Linden Blvd Multiplex Movie Theater, Applebees, Best Western Hotel, Royal Regency Hotel, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, American museum of natural history, and Kaufman Furs just to name a few. He has also been the dj for WBLS doing functions such as Harlem week at grants tomb, and the aids walk. Mixtapes! Forget about it ! BB has the illest mixtapes out rite now if u can find em, cause he only makes a limited amount. PS: Not 2 many dj's iz still blendin now days ! OK, he's a rapper, he's a dj, but guess what? He's been acting before all of that. Since the age of 7, Barry's 1st passion has been acting, and don't think he has'nt been active in that area, cuz he has. Appearing on shows such as Law & Order (all 3 ), & Third watch is just the beginning. Blends just finished filming 2 movies, one entitled, Turtleneck Gang where Blends plays detective Minks, and another movie called Eklypse where he plays a dj. " What a coincidence ." Fatman Scoop & Lenny Green is also in that movie. Milk commercial, MTV commercial is also on the resume. Theatre, Barry has been on stage on 42st in the production "Hip Hop Cabaret" . Blends is also a voiceover actor as well doing radio parodies all across the US. Oh yeah, Burger King commercial too. This is what makes him the hardest workin man in showbizness !!! & this is only half the stuff. On top of all of that, Barry is the CEO of his own entertainment company called Blentertainment which is a one stop shop where you can book dj's, mc's, performers, photographers, caterers, videographers, comedians, promoters, etc. for your function.
