Tobias Ziegler

I am the former Director of Communications for the Bartlet Administration. I was with Josiah Bartlet from the beginning of his first Presidential campaign, and that campaign was the first one I actually won. My old acquitance Claudia Jean Cregg was the first person I thought of when I thought about the position of Press Secretary. It was a privilege to work with her then, as it was when she became the Chief of Staff as she is now. I was very proud of my job. Not necessarily of my work, but where I was on the Bartlet Administration. The President and I had some disputes, but I must admit I have a lot of respect for him. I spent the last few years more secluded in my work; my Deputy Sam Seaborn left to run for a Congressional position out in California, and replaced himself with William Bailey, former campaign strategist. He was no Sam Seaborn. And Josh Lyman, the former Deputy Chief of Staff and now campaign manager for Matthew Santos, was perhaps my closest co-worker in the cabinet. I hate him for leaving, I missed him for leaving, and as much as I hated the way he thought most of the time, he was my comrade. I lost my job because I leaked a secret NASA code...I don't even want to get into it at this point. It was Top Secret, and I was fired immediately following my foreclosure of my being the leak. I lost my brother to such NASA tests, I didn't want any other Americans to have another job without knowing full-on what it was going to be.I've been thinking of working at Columbia, back in my home of New York. I'll enjoy being back home, watching the Yankees win...but I know my proudest 7 and a half years are behind me.And by the way...I'm a father and a husband...no matter what Andrea tells anyone.
