Vicky Farmer

Vicky(Cordin)Farmer is a singer/songwriter. Vicky has worked for many years as a part of the Hunter(lee n. retna and the spirals),Layton(Clive Layton),Cordin(now Farmer) team that are the basis of Monkey's grin. (Hunter/Layton/Cordin). Monkey's grin were formed after the 'Little Red Monsters' parted in 1992. The line-up has taken various forms over the years, with appearances from local musicians such as Bryan Lea Bradford (harmonica),Ruth Roberts (vocals), Baz Eardley (lead guitar), Dan Layton (bass guitar) and Howell Lovell (saxaphone). The main base of the band always returning to Hunter, Layton, and Cordin, a winning combination it would seem. The unique lyrical style, guitar playing and wonderfully dusky vocals of Mr Hunter, added to the fluidly jazzy tones and acurate ear for pitch from Mr layton, tied in perfectly with the soulful vocals of Miss Cordin (now Farmer). The grins album 'Passing Of The Years' was produced by Clive Layton. They still get together for one off gigs, and you haven't seen the last of the trio....Vicky mainly works these days on her own projects, (fitting them in with a hectic family life). She also works on other peoples projects, recently recording backing vocals on Kristy Gallachers wonderful debut album 'Emotional Gun' (www.kristygallacher.com).
