About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas’ Myspace Editor V3.6 !
We are a 4000 square foot store with 1500 square feet of outside area. We have been in business for over 30 years, and believe in helping you keep your animal healthy and happy. We have a knowledgeable staff waiting to help you pick just the right pet, or answer questions about the one you already have.On the inside, we have a 1000 square foot fish room with over 9000 gallons of fresh and salt water fish and invertebrates. We try to keep as great a variety as possible, and we usually have strange fish that you don't see at most pet stores. We stock things like archer fish, african butterfly fish, freshwater lionfish, needlenose garfish, many types of african cichlids like, zebra obliquidens, yellow compressiceps,VC-10s, albino red headed macrothalmus, and more. We also have things like singapore shrimp, freshwater lobsters, and reed fish. In our saltwater section, we have lion fish, file fish, watermelon wrasse, tobacco bass, a whole tank of beautiful eels, plus lots of "reef" safe fish. We have triggers, puffers, the ever popular clownfish, and a varying assortment of tangs, blennies , gobies, and wrasses. We also carry corals like acroporas, gonioporas, frogspawn, bubbles, candy, elegance, xenias, and more.Out on the floor, we have everything your pet might need, as far as food, treats, supplements, cages, toys, beds, grooming supplies, and training aids. We carry handfed birds, reptiles, rats, mice, hamsters, bunnies, tarantulas, scorpions, hermit crabs, frogs, and chinchillas. We also occasionally have kittens, and we just started carrying puppies. Our puppies come from good breeders that are just as concerned with the health and quality of our puppies as we are. We work with as many California based breeders as we can, so our puppies don't have to travel far to get to us. As soon as they arrive, we get a vet check done on them to make sure they are healthy. We have a grooming department with some excellent, groomers. Karen has been grooming dogs for over 30 years in Yucaipa. In June of 2005, we were lucky enough that Karen decided to come work at Daryl's. She has been here since, turning out beautifully groomed, happy dogs. Our outdoor area, has 10 fish systems with lots of beautiful koi. When our koi come in, they are subjected to a stringent three week quaratine program. We treat them with anti-parasite, anti-bacterial foods and medications to ensure "SPF" (specific pathogen free) koi. This means that at the end of our quarantine period, they are free of flukes, anchor worms, fish lice, and any bacteria that might cause infectious, contagious ulcers on your fish, if you were to get koi from us. Three weeks may seem like a long time, but we know our fish are healthy when you take them home. We have an amazing variety of beautiful pond plants, to give your fish somewhere to hide, and help keep your pond clean. We can help you select the plant that fits in your size pond best. Many of our plants are locally raised, so they are used to our climate, and won't exprience the "meltdown" that is so common with greenhouse raised plants. A gorgeous display pond, built by Exotic Aquatics, completes our outdoor area. You can get an idea of just how beautiful one if these water features can be, and begin to imagine where yours will go in your own yard. Our pond boasts fish tunnels and many uninque plants availiable only at Daryl's.
