Van Newell & The Bodenville Flyers

Canadian Roots, Folk Rock, Celtic influences and World appeal pretty well sums up the rythms of Van Newell and the Bodenville Flyers. Accents of Gordon Lightfoot, Leonard Cohen and sometimes even Mike Myers make Uncorked an upbeat trip into the Canadian Psyche. As singer/songwriter, Newell uses his experiences of life in the country on a small self-sufficent farm to give the music a grounded and down-to-earth feel. For many years he and Tim Norrie (bass) have been playing th festival circuit in various incarnations of the Bodenville Flyers. IN THE BEGINNING: Andrew Currie and Robert Currie were the "sound guys". It was a surprise to discover they were brothers. It wasn't a surprise to discover they were also very talented musicians. In Uncorked Andrew plays everything from the Celctic drum to the 8 string octaphone. Rob is lead guitar...oh yeah and he also produced, mixed and recorded the entire CD.
