About Me

I'm not in a band, it is just me and my acoustic 6-string and 12-string guitars. I did not devote much time to my craft growing up but peaked as a songwriter in my mid twenties. Had alot going on in my life and would express it through song. I write very little these days. I am proud of my past work and regret I 'lost my touch' and inspiration. If you want to know more about me, check out my other profile at MySpace.com/crazycrow76.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Just me
Influences: Someone once called me a female Neil Young, now if that isn't a compliment? Well, I am also a big Neil Young fan. As a kid, I listened to The Beatles and Melanie Safka. When I was about 13, I started listening to Joni Mitchell and my mother paniced. "You've got to do something!" she told my older sister. My sister said she would get me into Neil Young. Well, it sort of worked, today Neil Young and Joni Mitchell are two of my favorite artists. I have to also mention Rickie Lee Jones, Jackson Browne, Suzanne Vega, Michelle Shocked, Tegan and Sara, The Indigo Girls, Tom Waits. Also enjoy traditional jazz- Louis "Pops" "Satchmo" Armstrong, Charlie "Bird Parker, Miles Davis etc . . .(hate 'smooth' jazz). Old Blues- Robert Johnson, Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday, Muddy Waters. Old country- Hank Sr., Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline (hate 'young' country). Big Judy Garland fan too.
Sounds Like: One voice with a guitar

The fall of the muse

Those three songs I was so excited about writing turned out to not be very inspiring. I kept one, re-worked the lyrics on another and the third, completely rewrote the lyrics because when I went to wo...

Writer’s Block

Stevie Nicks once said: "It's hard to write when you're happy, because you're too busy being happy."  I would not consider myself 'little miss merry sunshine' but I really don't have the drama go...
