Dani McHenry is a modern, acoustic guitar, soul singer from the Philadelphia area. The music she creates helps to soothe the minds and bodies of listeners while smoothly touching the heart. Many fans state that her lyrics help them feel connected to things beyond this dimension as well as inspire them to look inside themselves for love and satisfaction. This all reflecting the music's branding statement, "Bringing You Closer to Filling the Void.""Words and music are the most influential things on the planet. They touch deeper than the physical being and have the ability to transcend time and space, " says Dani. Once she realized this, about eight years ago, music became an addiction. Ever since she bought her first guitar on Sunset Blvd. in California she played until her fingers bled. Before she even knew how to play, she would just sit on a stool with the lifeless thing over her knees and cry out half-singing, half-moaning, seeking and searching for something larger than herself and asking the world to have compassion on her. And this is how she traveled the country; fingers bleeding, voice singing, and heart seeking.Dani ended up in NYC and on the deck of her brownstone apartment wrote 30 songs smoking cigarettes between every verse and chorus. Through these songs she discovered something deeper than this world. The music combined with life experiences showed her that the world does not show compassion with its synthetic things but that there is something inside each one of us that shines truth and light.Her songs and powerful voice began to take the shape of telling the importance of human relationships as well as the ongoing communication she has with a Higher Being. She believes that relationships with people are the best gifts in life and that everyone needs to spend more time with the people they love. These relationships include those with themselves as well as the personal relationship each one of us has with our God.All of the literal traveling she did was really just a reflection of the spiritual traveling that she had going on in her soul. "I have looked so deeply into myself and have found the Light and I wish to share this with others through these songs," says Dani. When she is not taking care of her family, Dani can be found at various cafes and bars in the Phila/Jersey area playing music herself or supporting other local musicians. Or she can be found in the studio. Dani plans to have a sampler CD released in the spring of 2009.
