G.Rag y los Hermanos Patchekos
the one and only caribbean folk trash orchestra
Listening to the sound of los hermanos patchekos, the first question coming to your mind might be: what the hell are they doing there? The music of this eleven-piece-orchestra is rattling and rumbling, sometime it's dragging along, sometimes it races ahead frantically, always defying your expectation of what might be ahead. You will hear mediterranean melodies, carribean sounds, gstanzls from lower bavaria (home to both hornists, who are also part of a very traditional Bavarian Humpah-outfit called 'Eichberg Musi'), desert pop, minimal music played by far to many instruments, country, swing, tango, and then welcome to the jungle, baby. To name but a few stations on this musical voyage.
After two soundtrackalbums for München 7 and a nomination for the german “grimme preis†the hermanos are back with a brandnew longplayer. Full of strange mixture. You will find nearly everytinhg the patcheko gang loves: swing, tango, orchestral low fi, Caribbean classics, Woody Guthrie and drug songs bout reefer and morphine.

You're not entirely wrong if you call it ethnic-, world- or folk-music, but they just won't stick to one kind. Others might think that the label punk had to be in their somewhere. Some hermanos would heartily agree, others would call you a fool, no matter what label you put on them. And then they'd probably put a drink in your hand. They just pick up the good pieces wherever they find them, forming a sort of globalistic-trash-folk-extravaganza in the process.

Country Trash, patcheko songwriting, lost ambient trash, y mucho mucho
these two brothers shout, rock, whistle, blow harps, sing funny and sometimes sad songs about.....
There are people all over the world who say: ah oui oui, c..est pas mal. Others say: it..s shit. And that..s what we want. So if you like both: Country and a good mighty mezz .... you are right.
Minimalisme pure, you can hear more or less percussion, noisevoice and a spooky drum set. You can feel trash at his best and on the other side: no it..s more like....................†heeee i can see tears in your eyesâ€.
It..s a strange respect for country in times he used to be cool and rock ..n roll was still angry and goddamn hot. (subterranean homesick blues, von hinten, drugstore cowboy). Or takes Trio a friendly look over the hermanos shoulder? (foto foto, lala, lady -o- lady) Their own compositions are mixed in a funny combination of german/english/french/or whatever lyrics with or without use of an old megaphone. The strange click clack dong you can hear in the background makes definitley more space for charme. Well dressed. Ganz genau.
