Backdoor Man Blues Jam

About Me

The Mestizo Blues Collective bring you The Backdoor Man Blues Jam

The Backdoor Man Blues Jam is an open improvised session where fine musicians jam the Blues every week of the year.
The Backdoor Man Blues Jam runs EVERY Sunday at the Riflemans Arms in Glastonbury at 5-7 and EVERY Thursday in Bristol at The Cornubia in Temple Street at 8-10pm.
All singers, musicians and blues lovers are welcome.
The Backdoor Man Blues Jam is that rarest of phenomena: a jam session where the music is always high quality and entertaining.
We aim to make sure we put on a show that is lively and entertaining for the audience as well as fun for guest musicians.
That is why we have a regular house band, quality equipment for guests to use and a strict policy of playing blues and nothing but blues. This ensures that all guest musicians and singers can jam easily without having to explain to other musicians 'how the song goes'.
This consistent quality explains how we have successfully run this great institution for the last three years. So come down and get your weekly blues fix!

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: The Backdoor Man Blues Jam is run by the Mestizo Blues Collective

Mestizo aim to keep the Blues fresh and exciting. You can hear us reworking classic blues here or visit our dedicated site at www.myspace.com/mestizobluescollective to hear some of our original material.

Mestizo are available for bookings either as a duo (guitar/kick drum and harmonica) or as a four piece band (drummer, bass player, guitar and harmonica)

To ensure that the Blues Jam consistently produces high quality music we always have a house band consisting of electric bass, lead vocals, rhyth/lead guitar and a kick drum to keep it all in time.

(Naturally bass players, singers and guitarists are invited to come forward and jam and give us a rest if neccessary. )

Sorry no drums at the jam session in order to control the volume.
Influences: We play blues exclusively to keep things simple and coherent!
