Judi would rather be playing the fiddle than doing anything else. Her influences are Irish fiddlers, Matt Cranitch, Martin Hayes, and Michael Coleman; also, American fiddlers Bob Wills, Tommy Jackson, and various old-time fiddlers like Dean Von Allman from Missouri. Playing the fiddle is the most important part of life for her besides relationships with people. However, playing music with people gives her the best of both worlds. Her philosophy in life is to live it to the fullest and music is a way to do it. Judi is currently working on arranging new variations of her favorite Celtic tunes on fiddle and piano and recording them. Keep checking the tune list for updates. She is also working on a project at UALR studying "Ozark fiddling: styles and practices". In about a year this project will culminate in a DVD that analyzes Ozark fiddling styles and shows field recordings of Ozark fiddlers. There is so much good fiddle music out there, and the world needs to hear it!
