I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Dear Family and Friends,Recently I became captivated with the idea of challenging myself to a type of endurance event. After completing a bit of research, I was introduced & delighted to hear about Team In Training (TNT), a fundraising program for the Lukemia & Lymphoma Society. I am now training with this team to participate in the San Diego Rock ‘N’ Roll HALF MARATHON on June 1, 2008!! Like all TNT teams, my team is participating in this event in honor of a child from our community, Jason Cooney who was first diagnosed with leukemia at only 14 months of age. He is now 3 ½ years old & is thankfully in remission after multiple stays in the hospital, transfusions & daily regimens of chemotherapy. On a more personal level, I will be finishing this event in honor of three of my family members. I will be running 13.1 miles in both the memory of my uncle Don Wright, whom my family lost approximately 24 years ago to Hodgkin lymphoma and in honor of my aunt Sandie Adrian, who is currently in remission from B-Cell lymphoma. I will also be running in honor of my mom, Susan Adrian, who is a breast cancer survivor even though this society is not directly related to the type of cancer she battled.I am asking for your support in assisting me to raise funds toward more effective treatments & on-going research to stop leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. The strides towards a cure are astronomical! Since the 1960’s, the 5 year survival rate of those with leukemia has risen from 14% to 48% and those affected with Hodgkin lymphoma has risen from 40% to 86%. With statistics such as these made possible by donations to organizations such as TNT, it is evident that those who are suffering have hope for a cure & a long lasting future. My personal goal is to raise $3,800 by March 25, 2008. With your donation you will not only be supporting my participation, but you will help advance the Society's mission to FIND A CURE! Please keep in mind that the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is a unique charity because more than 75% of the funds spent by the Society go directly to fund research and patient services and your donations are tax deductible. Thank you for your generosity as every little bit makes a difference. Please pass this on to anyone who you believe may have an interest in donating. To donate go to my website and enter the amount you wish to donate. Click “Donate Now!” and you will receive an immediate e-mail confirmation and tax receipt. (All donations are tax deductible!)
