Valley Music Fest 2008 was a great success! We had 16 bands come and play in a total of 15 hours! It cost $6 to walk in for one day and $10 to walk in both days! We had a concession stand which was funded by many local people's donations along with a $50 gift card donation from wal-mart (thank you for your help walmart). We also had a raffle booth. We raffled a total of 8 things. A brand new Indiana Scout Acoustic Guitar (donated by Yale's Music Shop.) WITH 5 free lessons (donated by Tommy Cook). We also raffle a used Electic Guitar (donated by Kyle Farr). Other things that were donated for the raffle include 20 Free Big Mac Cards (Donated by McDonalds), 10 Free Sandwhiches/Sub Cards (Donated by The Dandy Mini Mart), Two $25 Gas Cards (Donated by The Dandy Mini Mart), a $20 gift card to Howie's (Donated by Howie's), a hand made necklace (Donated by Linda Gowan), an Elizabethan Deccorative Doll (Donated by Linda Gowan). All of these sources of money put together was able to raise $1061.78!!!
The money from the concert went to the Athens Future Business Leaders supporting Cystic Fibrosis. For those who don't understand what I mean by that... The Pennsylvania FBLA has a state project that each local chapter has to make money for the state project. This year, the state project this year is Cystic Fibrosis. So our Athens chapter is raising money for the state project with this concert. So the money will be going into the FBLA bank account then be sent to the Cystic Fibrosis for the state project.
