New equipment just in!
We are now tracking everything onto a brand new Mac G5 dual 2.7Ghz with 6.5 gigs of RAM. This sucker is fast and it almost never crashes.
Added to the rack is Great river 1N-V, a pair of brand new Distressors, a Groove Tubes Brick bass DI and a Valley Dyna-Mic Dyna-Mite combo. It's a cool little drum squash box that seemed pretty rare so we just had to pick it up.
New to the mic closet is the Lawson L47 multi pattern tube mic. It's soft and silky with just enough highs to be present in a mix without the brittle harshness associated with cheaper tube condensers. We're liking this one alot.
We also had the anti-suck field generator (our secret weapon) modded to take higher end opamps and it is pulling out the suck even more than ever.
Influences: Eric. - "I grew up on a diet of Patti Smith and AC/DC. These two influences are still the primary factor in influencing my musical choices to this day. I think that old Billie Holiday records sound really great and I think that Ted Leo's Hearts of Oak is one of the best recordings made in my generation. I love big drum sounds, like that Queens of the Stone Age sound from a few years back, classic Bonham or Back in Black and I will tune a drum mercilessly until we find it. Brian Eno knows how to treat a stereo mix and is always a reminder to try something on the edge"
Asa. - " My recording career started at age 15 with a Fostex X-28 4 track, recording demos for my highschool friends and my band wunderkind. In 1994 I moved to athens, GA to attend college at UGA. I honed my mixing skills engineering "Live In the Lobby" a live local music show on 90.5FM WUOG. After college I spent three years touring as the live sound engineer/road manager for heavy metal band Jucifer. During that time I also joined veteran Athens band Michael on guitar, recording one album with them at Sony studios. I stay busy in the studio most of the time these days but I still occasionally tour. Between recording gigs I run front-of-house sound at the 40 Watt club and Tasty World nightclub.
"
Jeff Cobb - "Jeff hasn't filled out his bio yet but he loves classic rock tones and gets some of he best guitar tones we've ever heard."
Sounds Like: Good audio recording for the athens music community.
