Hmmm let me think....Maupa...
It all begn a long time ago, and came from nowhere… just conversations and music… its hard to describe… so i'll let somone else… heh heh! Well, anyway… to cut a long story short… after years of playing gigs and writing tunes, by 2004, we'd finally managed to get together enough songs to release an album (plus a load of rare tracks that didn't make the album… search 'em out mega fans - its your quest!) on Necessary Records, called…
'The Minor Highs and The Major Lows'

"For those who’ve ever braved a visit to Maupa’s birthplace Accrington, the noises cascading from the stage tonight would make perfect sense. Hauntingly beautiful and then suddenly harshly visceral, the conflict at the heart of their songs perfectly embodies the stark contrast between the naturally idyllic Lancastrian moors that surround their hometown and the growing social decay that bastards like the BNP are exploiting within it. Sounding like a ‘Ladies and Gentlemen….’ Era spiritualized and early Verve jamming together in a dank, dark cave on songs such as ‘A Hard Day Will Mend’ and ‘Helpless’, lilting guitar chimes slowly build to huge crescendos of pure, unbashed sonic chaos. Meanwhile, scratch beneath the psyche-tinged surface of songs such as ‘Wish’ and ‘Sour Fruit’ (Taken from the forthcoming debut LP ‘The Minor Highs and The Major Lows’) and it’s clear there’s a dark, morose undercurrent aching to be discovered. The calm within the storm comes in the form of Maupa’s elfin singer David Boon. During the set closer and standout song ‘Nobody Told Me’ he cradles his guitar like a precious newborn while weaving his breathless, androgynous vocals around it’s fragile, epic guitar soundscape. Moments of such genuine ethereal beauty are rare. Hold them close."
