I was idling my time away in the Bellman Bar in Berlin one night a couple of years ago, when this rather tall young man approached my table. Like the Viking blood that courses through his veins, this Lord of the Fjords has deep history and knowledge at his command. He has read and listened deeply and has wisdom and talent beyond his years. It always used to be like that, but is a rare thing these benighted days.
Einar Stenseng is the first of his race I have come to know and he has settled my mind about the one-time berserkers from the Northern lands. Speaking and writing impeccable English he stands head and shoulders above his situation. His songwriting, guitar and piano playing put him leagues ahead of his contemporaries. He is more an equal of those he respects than anything. Roll over Richard Thompson and tell Bob Dylan the news.
