About Me

Layout made by Skem9 AdminMichael Trent Reznor was born May 17, 1965 to Michael Joseph Reznor and Nancy Lou Clark. His parents were married by a forced marriage and divorced while Reznor was at a very young age. This, like it would for all children, caused problems for Trent. He went to live with his grandparents after the divorce. In his early school years, Trent was a quiet boy, a loner. He loved to build model airplanes and play piano. Trent looked to music as a way to escape, a way to feel free from his small town in which he felt isolated. There wasn't much to do, and that led to loneliness, there wasn't much culture, as this qoute explains: "I don't know why I want to do these things, other than my desire to escape from Small Town, U.S.A., to dismiss the boundaries, to explore. It isn't a bad place where I grew up, but there was nothing going on but the cornfields. My life experience came from watching movies, watching TV and reading books and looking at magazines. And when your fucking culture comes from watching TV every day, you're bombarded with images of things that seem cool, places that seem interesting, people who have jobs and careers and opportunities. None of that happened where I was. You're almost taught to realize it's not for you." Already, he had realized at an early age that everything in the media was just lies. Now it was time to move on to high school. At the Mercer, PA high school, Trent got involved in singing and acting. He was voted "best in drama" by his classmates and noted as "very upbeat and friendly". He also learned to play tuba and the saxophone. Trent went to Allegheny college for a year with a degree in technology. He later dropped out and moved to Cleveland to pursue a career in music. He got a job as a janitor in a recording studio and was allowed to use it to record after hours. Trent was a perfectionist in everything he did, and hardworking, the owner of the studio has noted "when that guy waxed the floor it looked great". Nine Inch Nails was formed in 1988 and their first single "down in it" was featured on Pretty Hate Machine. Reznor soon went on to record many amazing albums and experienced alot to get where he is today. i wrote this all by myself. please don't steal it!!!! i might add a little more as time goes on.
