I am the eldest daughter of Sir William Lucas and Lady Lucas. I grew up not far from Longbourn and Elizabeth Bennet is a very dear friend.When Mr Collins asked me to marry him I was delighted. I do believe that happiness in marriage is entirely a matter of chance and Mr Collins is as capable of making me happy as any gentleman.
