No es casualidad que la primera película sonora de la historia del séptimo arte se titulara, allá por 1927, El cantor de Jazz (Alain Crosland). Esto era solamente un capítulo más de una larga historia de complicidad entre el Cine y el Jazz.El proyecto Cine –et– Swing no solo quiere hacer memoria sonora de esta estrecha relación sino además rememorar y recrear de forma jazzística algunas de las melodías más emblemáticas de la historia del cine.Esta idea surge a raíz de unos arreglos musicales realizados por el guitarrista y compositor almeriense Antonio Gómez sobre temas musicales de bandas sonoras de películas que pudieron escucharse por primera vez durante la gala de clausura de la I Edición del Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes (Almería en Corto) en 2002.El nombre Cine –et– Swing es un juego de palabras tomado del popular proyector de películas Super 8 con el que muchos aficionados al séptimo arte dieron sus primerísimos pasos.
