I am a new mother of two beautiful, amazing, oh so handsome TWIN boys...Yes thats right TWIN BOYS...Kaleb and Kai born in March 2007. What an amazing experience its been. I have never known something as precious and unconditional as a child's love. It has been an overwhelming journey to say the least. Some days are very long hard tiresome and trying, but no matter what, I love every minute of it. It isn't easy to juggle a relationship, a career and two small children. I have had to learn tolerance, patience and that change is inevitable and not always the way we want it. But I have also learned about a mother’s protection and unconditional love for her children and the need to think of her babies before herself. I am learning what it means to be a MOTHER!! It has been both the best and most difficult experiences of my life. I look forward to all the lessons life has to offer especially those taught by my boys, Kai and Kaleb. I wouldn't change my life for the world. Their tiny little giggles and smiles can melt away any bad day in an instant. I couldn't be more proud of my little family.
Besides being a mother, I am also an ER Nurse for Kaiser and I love it!! Who wouldn’t love screaming kids with fevers and drug seekers who tell you what narcotic to give and the strength they need, patients with that cough for 2 weeks who can’t understand why the heart attack patient is getting more attention then them. Oh lets not forget the 5150’s screaming, spitting and crying; If you work late enough you can get flashed by some 60 year old drunks, oh what a sight, my job is a constant entertainment, some days the ER is more like a circus of amazing, interesting, strange and even just plain ole' typical people with some very bizarre circumstances, some of which I'd love to share but they are not for the squeamish, lol.
But amongst all the chaos of the ER, you sometimes get that one patient that just melts your heart, the one you go home at night and say a little prayer for. What I really love about being a nurse putting all jokes aside, is that you are given an opportunity to meet some of the neatest people you would otherwise never have known. You get an opportunity to give a little of yourself to someone in need and in return you take something home at the end of the day, like a smile and sense of satisfaction and self worth and for me that experience is priceless. How many people have all that at the end of the day.
Beyond all that, I am who I am. Some may say I am stubborn, headstrong, determined. Others will say that I am loyal, kind, patient and very sensitive. I know one thing I can be brutally honest; if you don’t want my opinion, don’t ask. Those who know me know I hate liars and people who are fake, being fake is not a skill I possess, I wear my emotions on my sleeve and my facial expressions always get the best of me. Yet I have been told that I am very kindhearted and caring. So I guess its for you to decide.
I am not mean by nature though push me too far and I might lose my temper and that is never good nor anything anyone wants to witness, lol. Not to worry I rarely lose my temper, I am not confrontational by nature, and I avoid it if possible.
I have an amazing family whom I adore, my mother is one of my best friends, my dad has always been one of my heroes. My niece Karmella is one of the biggest hams I know she is constant entertainment with her dancing and talking. I have an amazing best friend who can read me like a book and usually keeps me in line when necessary. My goddaughter Alijah is growing into such a beautiful little girl and her curious nature and loving spirit never ceases to amaze me.
Last but not least my loving boyfriend and the father of my boys, is my strength, my rock and my biggest supporter. He stands by my side through everything. He has been by my side through some tough moments and has carried a heavy burden when necessary. He can always make me smile and laugh when I am having a bad day. He is always there for me with unconditional love and respect. I know I am not the easiest person to deal with but somehow he has stuck it out like a champ, lol. Sometime I think he is more than I deserve. I am blessed to have him in my life. The boys are blessed to have him as their father.
God determines who walks into your life........it's up to you to decide who you let walk away, who you let stay, and who you refuse to let go.
