Hello and thankyou for visiting my Myspace page. Well my name is Mac and you might remember me as a member of the So Solid Crew. Our single 21 Seconds went to number 1 and our album 'They Dont No' went double platinum and also went to number 1, an achievement no other crew have been able to share. During my music cerea I have had the pleasure of winning 3 Mobo Awards, 1 Brit Award and We won the UK Garage Awards, all in the same year. This was a really special time for me as I grew up in an area exposed to negative things and instead of going to Jail, Dead or on Drugs , like some of my peers, I achieved wat people would only describe as a dream. We as a crew made alot of other successfull songs and worked with many other established faces in the music industry, that contributed to our success. Since our achievements some have gone on to successfull solo careas, but me personally I felt I needed a break from the lifestyle I was exposed to at that present time. Believe it or not I went back to work, not because I needed the money but more because my girlfriend at the time was pregnant and expecting a baby. I really wanted to go back to how most people would earn their wage and live a normal life as being in the music industry was rapidly changing my opinions about people on a personal level. I worked on a Building site, Labouring from 8-5 and as u can imagine it was very hard work. In saying that, I really enjoyed the experience, because I felt like I was providing and contibuting like a real father and not a baby father. After earning quick money through the music, I realised that it was a phase and not the real world, even though you are blind to this at the time. It wasn't easy going back into a normal lifestyle, never the less, I think it has made me a more down to earth person and has taught me so much about real life and real life struggles. NUMBER 1- money does not make you happy, ( it does make life a little easier) NUMBER 2- success is not a faithfull girlfriend, (meaning SUCCESS doesn't stay with you forever.) NUMBER 3-money can change people and relationships, not because people are evil, but because moneys evil if its not handled right. Number 4-, with success comes greed. The more you have, the more people want and the whole dynamics of all your relationships change very quickly. On a positive note, I feel it has made me a better person and I feel that God makes everything happen for a reason. I now have 3 lovely kids and i'm a proud father. Those were my highs. My lows were, I got shot whilst on stage at one of our concerts and instead of the people in higher positions blaming these people that had done this, they blamed us, the victims. This had an effect on two things. 1 being my carea and 2 being my personal reputation, that ive had to work so hard and salvage just to change peoples perspective and opinions about me. Now I dont no how to be responsable for anyone elses actions, but for me, instead of reacting negativly, I felt it was due for me to take time out. Now everyone deals with situations differently and that was how I chose to deal with mine. For ignorant people, their views have remained the same about us, however those that have worked with us, (given us bookings, hire out their club) have all realised that most of the things you heard were over hyped to crash our success. I find it very hurtful wen im having to explain this to my own people, who I feel should know a little different- didn't they kill MARTIN LUTHER KING and MALCOLM X, despite them both having different strategies 1, By any means neccessary and the other said Non violent, Non violent, but regardless of their different opinions, they were both killed by the government. Didn't they try to destroy the careas of MICHAEL JACKSON, MOHAMED ALI, 2PAC, BIGGIE SMALLS, MIKE TYSON, MARVIN GAYE, ect. Wheather people think they are inocent or guilty, they are proud to send out all these negative messages on the News and in the Papers, knowing that these people are looked upon as role models and icons to alot of people including children. This is where information becomes a problem as you have just exposed and promoted negative behaviour to millions of people. It's a real shame as many of us young black males grow up without Father figures so we follow our role models and if they are feeding people this information, surely that could only make this form of crime increase. Statistics prove that since 2001, gun crime had rapidly increased. Could it be because you get paid to promote it? filling peoples heads with false information, so they can have an opinion about people they dont even know. Any way enough of that. WHATS GOING ON THIS YEAR FOR MAC? I set up my own entertainment company called Loyalty entertainment and if you go through my pictures you will notice that I have put on alot of events all around the UK. This has lead to mass exposure and it feels as if this is the right time to bounce back. Im currently workin on my album, TIMEZ TICKIN and i'm currently shooting a DVD that is coming out called MACS LIFE. It's all about life after So Solid and how these new rappers have not brought anything new to the game.( so if you can bring something to the table, then hit me up). I done THUG OF THE FAMILY in the year 2000 and we still seem to be on the same concepts in 2008. These other Rappers need music but right now, music needs me. I was never really into garage, I just done it as there was a market for it, now its all about this Rap game and im going to show people why I am the boss.
