About Me

We envision the future of Dunkirk and surrounding areas as an artistic and culturally active community, achieving economic success and nourishing the soul, spirit and body of its residents. Our mission is to showcase artists and their creative output, enrich people’s lives through affordable and accessible arts programming, offer a non-commercial alternative to mass entertainment, and provide value to our community and its residents through personal enrichment. We embrace the diversity of our community as a source of community strength and as a contributor to the breadth of artistic and cultural activity. As a new part of our mission for the organization we are using Access to the Arts, the original name of the organization, to bring attention to our varied programs in fields outside of the visual arts.

As a non-profit gallery dedicated to providing professional, non-commercial exhibition space to contemporary artists, the Adams Art Gallery accepts exhibition proposals from established and emerging artists whose artworks embody highly personal aesthetic investigation. Considered are two and three-dimensional works in all fine art media, in traditional craft materials treated as fine art and in mixed media works which bridge traditional genre. Artists exhibiting in the Adams Art Gallery receive a professional exhibition experience including direct mail announcements, opening reception and an opportunity to speak about their work.
