In the short time In The Kingdom of Nightmares has been together, they have quickly begun to make a name for themselves within the Maine music scene with a relentless live show, sing-along breakdowns and a fast, stompy infusion of Metal & Hardcore. It's easy to see why.
ITKON was formed in April of 2008 by former Tomorrow's Tragedy band members Tj Washburn, Miles McIntire & Gary Porter. The Band played its first show as a 3-piece as they searched for a bassist and 2nd guitarist. Former Cicada/Headcount Bassist Chris Manos decided to join on as the band's 2nd Guitarist after seeing the band live. After lining up several bassists and having them all fall through for one reason or another, the band, on a tip from their friends Rebirth To Ends, tried out former Sons Of Leo Guitarist Anthony Matarazzo on bass. After auditioning for the postion, Anthony was welcomed into the band.
Both Chris and Anthony were thrown into the fire and started playing out shows with the band almost immediately after joining. The band played a handful of shows during the spring and summer of '08. Beginning in August, they took time off from shows to write and record their debut EP 'As Daylight Turns To Dusk' with Levi Archer of Brutality Records. Over a period of 3 months the band recorded the EP, finally releasing it on New Years' Eve of 08' which also marked the bands return to the stage.
2009 has already been a productive year for the band with several shows already under their belt and several more large shows lined up. The band has continued to make its mark with each live show, gaining new fans and solidifying their slot as one of the top up-and-coming bands in the state.
The band will be entering the studio again in July of '09 to begin recording its follow up to 'As Daylight Turns To Dusk' with Nobis Guitarist Josh Torrey. Also look for the bands first ever DVD to be released sometime this coming year as well.
