Excuse me, I'm late for my Wall Street Journal interview ...

About Me

In 1980 I was 4 and a republican because the president was a republican and he was nice. My teeth were starting to look like I might need dental work.In 1983 I was 7 and I wanted Punky Brewster to be my best friend, and my Dad gave me a copy of Ayn Rand's Anthem and jelly shoes for my birthday. In 1984 I was 8 and afraid because I had just read 1984 and cheek-eating rats haunted my dreams. In 1987 we moved to a new town and I became the weird girl with stonehenge in her mouth who claimed to be related to the gymnast on the poster on the wall in Mrs. Smith's 6th grade classroom. (wooh, marshall!)In 1989 I became a Heather and I got braces. In 1990 I was 14 and I became *the* Heather. i learned how to fuck with the eagles and fly. wasn't all it was cracked up to be.In 1992 we moved and I became a cornchip. I started reading Stephen King and timothy leary, heard tori amos and nine inch nails for the first time, and could probably have taught perry ferrell a few things about lost weekends. In 1994 I was 16 and wrecked Derek Perry's car, blew my Wesleyan interview and had my first party worthy of a funny teen movie. I started smoking on May 14.In 1995 I bailed on Oxford. I smoked three packs a day. I started hanging out at the river. Duct tape was not my friend. I wore a size 4. my hair was rougly the size of texas. so i moved there. In 1996 I had a reality check. In 1997 I met my husband at a party at college. He looked like Garth. I liked his smile. In 2000 we moved to Chicago. I listened to traffic reports and cried because the words made no sense to me. I smoked a lot.In 2002 we got married. ah, paris. In 2004 I was 28 and we bought Humphrey House. In 2005 I decided I wanted to sing again. In 2007 I am 30. I'm not a republican anymore. I have braces again. The Hillside Strangler doesn't frighten me at all, and 20 minutes to the post office means I can make it in 10. "Garth" is still my husband, but his hair is shorter now. I'm not really a cornchip anymore. But neither am I a heather. I'm headstrong and funny, even without three glasses of wine. I like to dance and make a spectacle. Two days a week, I have good hair. And since I quit smoking, I can sing again.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

myself fifteen years ago. was in serious need of a clue ...and the good people at freckle studios. this is ... words escape me. thanks to the posh-lovin michael for sending it my way.

Movies:

i like movies. can i be in your movie? check that, can I keep my clothes on and still be in your movie?

Television:

Books:

stephen king. anita shreve. zadie smith. asimov, poe, shakespeare. alice hoffman. all scifi. not fantasy, sci fi. there's a difference. if it's creepy and haunting and not full of typos, i will love it. i hardly ever read non-fiction, but am making my way through reading lolita in tehran right now. my friend ceece has a book club. i don't go, but i read the books.

Heroes:
