My Interests

I'd like to meet:

PushPush Theater and New Street Arts is a space where artists come to grow and try new things. We don't hold traditional auditions. Instead, we have open workshops and readings, open rehearsals, gatherings, and classes where artists can find a common ground and actually work together. In this way, an actor can find a director just as easily as the other way around.
One note: If your primary aim is to make a lot of money, become famous, showcase your work, star in a show, have a social life, or simply have a speaking part in a play--PushPush might not be the theater for you. Sometimes these things happen, but only by default of working on the art. That is our primary interest. We are also not a "where are my props?" type of theater. Hopefully that makes sense. It's a common misconception with us. We are highly collaborative and expect everyone working on a project to participate equally in making a project come to life. That's how PushPush survives. Every month of the year someone at PushPush is looking for more people to complete a project. If you are committed to the art of theater, and will keep at it, we believe we have a door that is open.
Lastly, we are highly committed to the growth of working professionals. We offer labs and workshops at a very low cost for working professionals (artists currently working in professional theater) to encourage continued growth. These are different from our classes and we make the distinction so that artists a different level can begin their work from there.
