About Me

Jessie Hart was born on a southern Florida farm, the third of four children. The family relocated to the mountains of Pennsylvania when she was two years old. Jessie’s performance career began early, singing the scores from Disney ® movies at mini-concerts staged in her backyard. “I was determined to become a Disney Princess when I grew up. I knew by heart EVERY word of EVERY song from ANY Disney film that featured a princess and I would flit around the neighborhood performing them over and Over and OVER - whether I had an audience or not!”
Jessie’s repertoire began to expand in grade school where she embraced the instrumental and choral curriculums. Throughout her primary and secondary schooling she performed with the school band playing the trumpet and French horn and as a featured vocalist in musicals, choral performances and talent shows. In the 10th grade, Jessie joined the school’s national award-winning marching band as a member of the Color Guard. “People tend to look at me sideways when I enthusiastically dust off and share a few ‘band gems.’ But honestly, my time with the Color Guard culminated in some of the happiest and proudest moments in my life to date. I felt like an important part of something bigger than myself and it instilled in me a great work ethic as well as generating a new level of respect for the rigors of a performance.”
Shortly before high school graduation, Jessie’s beautiful face and natural charisma caught the attention of a model management company in Manhattan, NY. Eager to experience life in a big city , Jessie decided to dip her toes into the waters of fashion modeling, exploring first NYC, then Chicago and LA. It was on a trip to visit family in the mid-west that Jessie ventured into a local music venue where she learned East Coast Swing Dancing. The vibrant feel of the songs and the energy it injected into the crowd inspired a further interest in all forms of ballroom dancing and reignited Jessie’s passion to become a musician. “Ballroom dances offer a return to elegance and a respect for people as dance partners and peers. I meet amazing people out dancing and they hail from a variety of backgrounds. The different musical styles, the variety of the dances and the way the people around me on the floor respond to the music and interpret the dance steps is invigorating. The vibe is so unlike what you find at a typical nightclubs these days.”
Jessie Hart’s sound, unofficially dubbed ‘Savoy Country’ includes appealing ballroom and big band dance beats infused with a traditional country flavor sure to attracts fans with a motley collection of musical tastes. “I’m a country girl at heart but I enjoy being on the road and during my travels I happened to fall in love with these forms of dancing. So, I decided to paint them into my musical canvas; you’ll hear emotive country ballads but also a spattering of up-beat swing and a dollop of cha-cha-cha to get you moving! In this age of video games and reality television it seems to me that you need to offer a way for fans to get involved if you want to keep them interested in what you‘re doing. On that note, I think that people are ready to really embrace my version of ‘country twang meets that dancing thang!’”
