Well I started out listing to music when I got a cd player for christmas one year then started going to the libary as a kid on a Saturday and used to get two cd's for a week (and copy them) lots of different genres of music and years!! Then in 95 I went to Porth county and discovered happy hardcore, the first tape I listened to was DJ VIBES AND MC SHARKEY (slammin viynal??) Then I was hooked!! My grandad used to call it boom boom or dong dong dong music AS ANYONE WHO HAS BEEN IN MY GRANDADS CAR BACK IN THE DAY (THE FERNDALE CREW MAINLY AND LEE FLECTHER WHO GAVE ME THAT FIRST TAPE, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE LOL) So from then till about 99 I was hardcore mad MARK E.G, CALLY(now part of the duo cally and juice), VIYNALGROOVER, HIXXY,SY,SCOTT BROWN, M-ZONE, FORCE AND STYLES AND MANY OTHERS!!.................................................... ............................................................ ............................................................ ............................................................ ............................................................ ............................................................ ............................................................ ...................... Then a track called DJ JEAN - THE LANCH came out , then ALICE DJ - BETTER OFF ALONE and I was slowly getting hooked onto trance. By the time I moved to plymouth thats all I would listen to, I started buying minstry of sound ibzia edtions and gatecrasher and other trance and hard trance compalition albums.. A few months into moving there I had my first experience of viynal djin' in my m8's uncles house, it all seemed a bit mental to me him trying to explain that in order to mix I needed to get two records at the the same speed/pitch and to interlock the beats to pull off what they call "BEATMATCHING" so I could go from one track to the next to pull of a mix... But I started getting the hang of it and devloping my own style of mixing, that sending me to the top of the dj picking order of his flat and his mate's house partys!! with my own style of mixing and awesome track selection of which pull me through when I messed the beatmatching up lol I was becoming a dj in my own right as I thought! Then one day one of his m8's said that he was doin' a small gig on a Tuesday nite at the local uni and would I be intrested in playing, of course I jumped at the chance!! The nite wasn't that good as many people didn't turn up as it was a new gig I suppose, thank god cos my set sound was awful I was nervous as hell with just 50 odd people in the room lol, but I got paid £20 for my hour set which I thought was good.. The next week I didn't play and few weeks after that the uni stopped the event....................................................... ............................................................ ............................................................ ............................................................ ............................................................ ............................................................ ............................................................ ......................... After that I stopped djing for a while till I came back to Wales but didn't go back to viynal djing I started djing pubs and people's partys and doing karokes around the Pontypridd and south wales area and sometimes in England. I was good at working the crowd and got my first residenticy at a pub called THE CELTIC PRIDE in PONTYPRIDD every Friday and Saturday and I would also do Anghards across the road on a Thursday doing a karoke and disco.. The first nite I did the Celtic pride The manager John said I was SHIT but I didn't care!! I was more determend to do better so when I done the saturday gig I was watching out for people's reaction, tapping of the hand of foot or rocking there head or dancing to what I was playing and then going and playing song similiar, then the crowd was loving me and I would slip in a bit of hard dance which I was getting back into CALLY AND JUICE, MARK E.G, LISA PIN-UP TO NAME A FEW and thats where people would come and get wrecked and I was building up a fan base aswell people were coming to see me.......................................................... ............................................................ ............................................................ ............................................................ ............................................................ ............................................................ ............................................................ ......................... Then I started getting back into viynal djing through a new deal course based in IMMTECH IN CARDIFF and met a few boys down there SEB AND DANIEL FITTON, we would dj together and try each others tracks Seb was doing trance, daniel was doing happy hardcore and I had moved onto hardhouse which was hard sound beats!!! we all made names up for each other aswell, Daniel was DJ DAN"E" (like dj KIM "E") thats what I named him and I named myself DJ GODS GIFT LOL AND Seb was just seb lol.. We were learning off a dj called WOODY of whom dj'ed for L'AMERICA and he was a cocky F!cker but teached use where we was going wrong and how to set ourselves up and always used to tell us if we wanted it we could do it!! But I never got back into djing viynal WELL NOT YET ANYWAY!!! BUT I WILL!!! I but I did some events in TREFFOREST IN THE FOREST HOTEL BACK IN 2005 AND MEET UP WITH SOME LOCAL DJ'S ONE OF WHICH MADE IT BIG, JEREMY TRIMBY (VANDALL/TRANCEWAREZ RECORDINGS) I remember when he was still in uni and I would watch him making tracks in his bedsit, and DANNY SCAHILL THE SCOUSE TRANCE MASTER IN MY EYES!!! ALSO DJ STATIC, TWITCHY AND MY M8 DANIEL FITTON CAME AND PLAYED ASWELL!!! THE NITE WAS CALLED TWISTED ILLUSION SET UP BY ME AND DANNY SCAHILL it didn't run long but was a laugh on a Tuesday nite!!
