Influences: Charlotte is grateful for inspiration from of writers like Mavis Staples, Patty Griffin, James Taylor, Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Townes Van Zandt, Michael Card, Keith Green, Twila Paris, Amy Grant, and at the moment, mesmerized by the life and creative courage of Emily Dickinson. In a more personal way, she has been blessed with the influence and support of her much loved husband Jack, her children, her musical extended family, and also with the influence of many songwriter friends. She especially wants to thank Craig Bickhardt for his mentoring and friendship.Charlotte is aware of her influence as she releases songs to travel where they will, and hopes that their influence in some way furthers the same sort of love, mercy and peace that she needs so desperately in her own life.Because the greatest influence in her life is her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Slipping Sideways

The Source

Once I had a kitchen trash bag full of crumpled paper--literally hundreds of attempts at capturing something Craig Bickhardt once wrote to me, namely that he thought life wasn't really a journey back ...
