About Me

SHY, the third eldest of six children, hails from French/Israeli decent. Growing up in a diverse cosmopolitan atmosphere, he’s fluent in no less than 4 languages – English, Spanish, French, and Hebrew, but Spanish is his favorite. SHY demonstrated his artistic talent at an early age. At the tender age of 11, he participated in a national singing contest, clinching the much-coveted 1st place. Ever since, his life has been all about music.SHY’s first album was released when he was 17, and he was greeted by much success. With several of his songs reaching the top spots of the hit parade, music videos and tours followed in addition to a multitude of television appearances. After a brief break, Shy called California his home, and started reaching out to the Hispanic audiences. His first single, “Solo”, was released in 2000, and received rave reviews from top Latin radio stations. With the success of “Solo”, SHY was called upon to be a part of the “Edicion Especial”, a show on Telemundo, as well as Galavision, where he surprised the audience with a live performance and a hilarious interview.2001 saw the release of SHY’s second single, “Sube La Marea”, which soared effortlessly to number one on the Latin radio charts. More music videos and radio promotional tours in several states across America ensued. Up next would be his first Latin album, produced by Geoff Grace, who had previously worked with superstars the likes of Michael Jackson and Tina Turner. But unfortunately, tragedy struck a month before the release when SHY’s father fell very ill, and passed away soon after. Utterly devastated that his number one fan and unconditional supporter was no longer by his side, SHY retreated from the entertainment world to mourn the loss of the main source of all the musical aspirations he had ever known. After years of recovery, SHY is now back with a vengeance. Collaborating with 8-time Grammy-winning producer Thom Russo (who had worked with megastars that include Juanes, Mana, Alejandro Sanz, Babyface, Cher, Macy Gray, Janet Jackson, and Prince), SHY and Russo have found a new irresistible sound with infectious horns, a dance floor magnetizing beat, and heartfelt lyrics. His first single, “Corazon Loco” (“Crazy Heart”), will be released this summer, just in time for the season of endless sunshine and love. “Corazon Loco” was written by L’Enfant Brutal, one of the most versatile artists of the modern Latin world, who has had numerous hits in Spain and Mexico. Teamed up with the infectious and sensual vocals of SHY, “Corazon Loco” is sure to dominate the airwaves this summer, infusing everyone with that uncontrollable urge to dance and party all the way through the sexiest season of them all.
