About Me

Hi and thank you for coming past my page - I appreciate it. My names Emily and I was born on the 16th January 1990 to my very loving and incredible family - my mum, dad and two brothers; James and Jon. I’ve lived in Salisbury, England all my life and can say I’m proud to be English, despite all the bad press.
I first began this page on the 22nd March 2008 and it has come an awfully long way since then, so I’d like to thank those who have both encouraged me and pledged me their full support - I’ll be eternally grateful.
Children are a blessing to us from God, they should be respected, well treated, given the space to grow, run and play. I guess worry is a parental instinct, however, parents should also be able to trust others with their children - sometimes this isn’t the case.
Infants as old as four are at risk of being shaken, although 41% of these innocent victims are under the age of one. Each year thousands of children are shaken, with a large percentage of them either dying or sustaining life changing injuries. I truly believe that we as human beings can put a stop to this horrific form of child abuse. Education is the key - everybody needs to be made aware of shaken baby syndrome and maybe then, the numbers will be cut. Until then, awareness is the way forward.
I first heard about shaken baby syndrome in July 2007, when I came across Rachel’s page which she had dedicated to her beautiful young daughter, Madilyne. When Madilyne was 10 months old she passed away after being shaken. She had been left with a registered day care provider - somewhere where she was supposed to be safe and out of harms way. Madilyne was shaken so violently that she went into a coma, where she later passed away on the 14th April 2005. Their heartbreaking story touched my heart and it later became that kick up the butt to me, ever since I’ve devoted myself to putting an end towards shaken baby syndrome.
So this page is for you Miss Madi, a beautiful little girl who was taken from us far too soon. I hope this site can help your memory and your legacy live on, so we can stop this tragedy happening again and again.
Thank you for reading and thank you for your time because tomorrow we will stop this - together.
