About Me

Born in Los Angeles, California on December 2, 1974, Jeremy Schieffelin studied music theory and composition at San Diego State University and the University of California, San Diego. In his mid-twenties he moved to New York with ambitions to work in the film and television business writing and directing, in addition to pursuing his musical career as a composer. In New York City he attended New School/Mannes College of Music, studying film scoring. Later he attended the New York Film Academy to study screenwriting, directing, and production. He went on to work as a Director of Photography for “The Rend Project” a modern dance television program associated with the Merce Cunningham Dance Studio that aired publicly in New York. After this he worked as a producer on a variety of independent film projects in New York, in addition to writing and directing his own independent film projects: one of which, a short film titled “A Still Small Voice”, he scored the music for and recorded it with the Sophia Metropolitan Orchestra, a fifty piece orchestra in Sophia, Bulgaria. He later went on to co-produce four Sesame Street segments, in addition to working as an assistant on Donald Trump’s “The Apprentice”, “ESPN 2”, “The Third Watch” and other film and television productions. In the year 2007 he composed and orchestrated a full-length album of orchestral works titled “Romantic Music for the End of the World” with the Belgrade Symphonic Studio Ensemble. His most recent work has been scoring music for a variety of film projects. His music utilizes many cutting-edge digital technologies, in addition to classical and contemporary live orchestral instruments.
