Casual Labor

About Me

This is where we're supposed to tell you about all the wonderful things Casual Labor has accomplished and can do for you...wow, that's a lot of pressure! So what can we say that hasn't been said a gazillion times before about countless other Bands? And if we said it, why should you believe what we tell you?

What we can tell you is that Casual Labor is a rock band that plays music that a lot of people seem to like. We play a pretty wide range of music including rock, classic rock, southern rock, pop, funk and reggae. Our typical line-up features Kerry Struble - lead vocals & guitar, Andy Kustas - keyboards, violin and vocals, Peter Tudisco - bass guitar and vocals, Mike Chatigny - drums and vocals and Nick Ciarleglio - lead guitar and vocals. We have lots of friends that often sit in with us, folks like John Hart on drums and vocals, Peter Lawlor on congas, Cliff Wilson on hand percussion and blues harp, Richard Gardzina on saxophone and flute and Niel Zweig on guitar, to name a few. We all love to keep it fun and danceable, but we also have been known to throw in songs that might make you say, "Hey, I remember that song!" We also infuse a healthy dose of our upbeat and often requested original tunes. We could go on, but why not let some of our friends and fans round out our story:

"My name is Edra Toth and I am the Artistic Director of North Eastern Ballet Theatre, and founder of the Edra Toth's Academy of Dance & Music located in Wolfeboro and Somersworth NH. I have used Casual Labor numerous times in the past for our fundraising events and would not hesitate to use them again! Their music is vibrant, alive and really gets folks moving on the dance floor! I am most impressed with their range of repertoire and special requests where 'no problem' which is huge when you want to make your guests and supporters feel 'special' I would highly recommend hiring Casual Labor for all your fund raising and special events needs!" –Best regards, Edra Toth

"Casual Labor is a great listening and dancing experience. The music is versatile incorporating old and new songs, with quality vocals. Fun personalities! Talented musicians! definitely worth checking out." –Kim, "honorable groupie" from Wolfeboro, NH

"I happened upon Kerry and his band at a benefit for a baby with cancer. These guys came out in one of our many severe storms this winter to support this baby and raise money for his family. They were wonderful, and their music was outstanding. Everybody present was blown away by the talent and heart of this band. I have been to see them as often as possible since then, I love their music, especially the originals. If you get a chance to see them take it, you will not regret it! Thanks again guys!" –Lynne Lavigne

"We have seen Casual Labor over 5 times and we have never been disappointed by their performance. Their music is progressive, innovative and uplifting, which is a rare treat in this world of derivative, stereotyped renditions of the same old songs. They always have a good mix of instruments and they have obviously practiced long and hard to achieve a polished sound, while still leaving plenty of room for brilliant improvisations and featured solos. They do covers and original material with equal facility. Casual Labor has such a range of talented musicians that they are suitable for any occasion. If anyone cares to dance, that is all the better!" –Sandy Martin and Ashton Woodhouse

Casual Labor is available to play a variety of events including parties, weddings, house concerts, festivals, theme/amusement parks, corporate functions and of course, clubs and restaurants. We come in quite a few configurations, meaning that if you want an 8-piece dance band with horns and hand percussion, we'll be there with bells on (and of course, a few other instruments). If you'd like an acoustic duo or trio, no problem, we'll keep it mellow for ya. Need a solo guitar, singer songwriter or a jazzy pianist? we can accommodate. A popular option for weddings is to have pianist/violinist Andy, play for the ceremony, some jazz or light acoustic music during picture-taking and/or dinner, then strike up the band for dancing into the night!
