Jake Hayden was born a drummer. His musical career began at Franklin Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana where he won 3 WGI World Championships playing the marimba. Known for his eclectic musical prowess Jake immidiately felt at home at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, studying the drum set with such artists as Kenwood Denard (Miles Davis, Jaco Pastorious), Kim Plainfield (Drummers Collective), Mike Mangini (Extreme, Steve Vai), and Dave DiCenso (Duran Duran), before earning a BAS in Professional Music. In the spring of 2002 Jake landed his first major touring opportunity with the 1980's New Wave pioneers "Missing Persons," with whom he has occupied the drum chair touring the United States for 6 years. Other reputable artists he played with while in Boston are Mark Morris and The Catunes, ASECT, Two Ton Shoe, The Dwight Richer Band, Jillian Wheeler, and The Big Dawg Trio.
In October of 2006, Jake moved to Los Angeles, California. Along with his drumming accolades Jake is an accomplished music director, a devout teacher, and a vocalist, who holds the drum chair with renown artist Trev Lukather.
