Sinai Rose
Artist Bio$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$Sinai Rose Davy, was born June 1, 1997, in Manhattan, NY.
The only child born to her American mother Shannon Cook (Music Journalist/Talent Manager) and her Jamaican Father, Kevin Davy (Reggae Artist/Musician p.k.a "Yvad"), Sinai was raised in a home constantly filled with music. At age one, Sinai would often join her father, humming harmonies, as he sang and strummed tunes on his guitar. She recorded her first song at age two, in the families "Sinai Productions" home recording studio. At age three, Sinai, developed a reputation for taking over recording sessions. Sinai could never fight back the urge to join in and sing along, often time louder than everyone else. Sinai’s strong desire to sing in front of anyone willing to listen, led to numerous performances in school plays, community outdoor concerts, poetry readings/open mics.
In 2005, Sinai and her Mom moved to Brooklyn. That year, Sinai was encouraged by family friend and Actor Dorian Missick (Six Degrees, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories),
to audition for Child Talent Agent, Shirley Faison, of the Carson Adler Agency. Ms. Faision, was moved to tears during Sinai’s audition and agreed to assist her with television and film castings. On March 27, 2008, Sinai made a lasting first impression when she arrived at Songwriter/ Producer Toby Gad’s penthouse in NYC to celebrate Toby’s Birthday. In a star filled room with Celebrities, Singers, Songwriters and Producers, Sinai felt quite at home. When Gad silenced his guest and asked Sinai to bless them with a song, Sinai responded, “Ok, I’ll sing ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry‘.†Ironically, Sinai wasn’t aware that Toby Gad had Co-wrote & Produced the song for Fergie. Seated on an ottoman in the middle of the room, Sinai delivered an emotion filled rendition of the song, accompanied by Gad on guitar. To say the least, Sinai’s impeccable performance floored Gad and his guests, bringing the room to a dead silence, as her fiery vocals resonated the power & passion filled truth that a young star had arrived. Gad, was so impressed he invited Sinai to his studio the following week to record her performance for his V-Blog.
Described as, “An amazing singer whose voice shows depth and maturity far beyond her years,†by NY Daily News in March 2008, Sinai was recognized as one of the youngest to audition to sing the National Anthem for the Mets at Shea Stadium in New York.
After waiting on line for five hours, Sinai demonstrated poise and confidence as she sang Beyonce’s “Listen†to the three-judge panel. Afterwards, Sinai told NY Daily News reporter Adam Nichols, “"I have been wondering what it's like to sing at a big stadium, "I love the Mets and the chance to audition was too great not to do." When Nichols asked , “Where did you get that voice?â€, Sinai responded sweetly “It’s a God given gift.â€Sinai’s flawless voice melts the hearts of listeners, and has began establishing a youthful fan base on MySpace demonstrating Sinai’s star power.
Singer/Songwriter Audrey Martell, a close family friend recalls Sinai’s prank phone message which led to Martell suggesting to her co-writer Songwriter/ Producer Toby Gad that Sinai record “Once In A Lifetime†which the duo had previously penned. Audrey explains, “Sinai left me this message on my answering machine where she was belting out my song “Wash Me Down†and I could not believe this voice was coming from this little girlâ€â€¦
Martells, continues, Sinai comes into the studio with all songs completely memorized unlike anyone else I’ve ever worked with, and by far she is the most professional…Sinai’s ability to interpret any song and make you feel the meaning behind the lyrics is amazing . Sinai makes you believe! …
Sinai has penned 12-songs for her debut album with the help/guidance of Songwriters: Audrey Martells, Mattias Gustafsson, June Ospa and Kerrie Roberts and Music Producers Toby Gad, Mattias Gustafson, Michael Whalen and Jens Gad.
Sinai’s story is in essence sweeter than Apple Pie. Its edgy like Apple a la Mode. It encompasses the story of a super talented girl who is ready to let the world hear her amazing voice & stake her claim in the music world. She’s the quintessential “Generation TechGirl†who is destined to turn her American dream of becoming the youngest Pop Star into reality.TELEVISON APPEARANCESNICKELODEON
