A
four-piece family band, Fishcreek’s vocal harmonies set apart their down-home good-time folk, gospel numbers and traditional bluegrass as well as originals like Nelsonville and Roundhouse.
Father guitarist/vocalist Bruce Taylor, Ph.D., is a professor of biomedical and electrical engineering. He has been playing folk music since the late 50’s. As a member of the Cleveland-based trio The Highlanders, he appeared live on the Mike Douglas Show in 1960.
Daughter vocalist/upright bassist Lynne Taylor is a singer-songwriter who began writing her own music at the age of fourteen. Lynne has performed professionally throughout New England and the Midwest. Lynne released self-produced album, Grace, in 1996.
Son, vocalist/banjo, dobro & guitarist, Daniel Taylor is a carpenter and actor (Cleveland Public Theatre, Ohio Shakespeare Festival, Actor’s Summit). He has a memorable deep voice.
Youngest daughter, vocalist Katy (Taylor) Beaucham is recently completed her graduate degree in Public Health at OSU while working as a Safety Engineer in Akron, and now lives in Cincinnati. The core band is often joined by various guest artists such as Dave Talmage and Scott Solsky(both featured on the CD,) Mark and Andrea Bussinger, Rick Horton and others.
The traditional sound of Fishcreek reminds us of our history and the history of Folk Music.
