Born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Digo Padovan fell in love with performing as a child. His sister taught him to dance at an early age and when he was old enough, he began instruction, himself. Gaining recognition early on for his skill as a choreographer, Digo began teaching and choreographing for teen students for the public school system, traveling to different institutions with the physical education program. His ambitious undertakings led to choreographing for singers, events and festivals, and eventually to touring with Brazilian recording stars Zeze di Camargo & Luciano. Digo’s athletic style garnered the attention of the Brazilian Aerobics team and their sponsors who took an incredible gamble on the dancer to choreograph their routines and to train as a competitor, himself. That gamble paid off when he helped to lead his team on to six gold medals in the International Sports Aerobics Championships. Digo followed his dreams to America, eager to capitalize on his newfound fame. He became the first silhouetted dancer in the well-known, international iPod ad campaign and started dancing and choreographing for major recording stars, including Madonna, Mary J. Blige, the Black Eyed Peas, Guuzen No Kakuritsu / Girl Next Door, Shakira, Debra Cox, and Toni Braxton. He was featured in numerous ads and events for companies like H&M, Redken, Pepsi, and Nike. In Las Vegas he choreographed for the members of Le Reve and several Cirque Du Soleil spectacles. Having been surrounded by music since childhood, it was the inevitable next step for Digo to explore his own musical creativity. He’d toyed with the idea for years, but never had the time to cultivate his talent – until now. Gathering on his interest in and experiences from different cultures and their music from around the world, he is determined to bring a whole new “pop” sound to Brazil. Mixing ethnic instruments with dance beats, crossing country rhythms with rock ballads, utilizing native poetry to color his lyrics, Digo is putting together an album that is sure to rock the airwaves of Brazil and beyond… .
