Lately my life has taken an unexpected turn. I have a very close family and I never expected I would be without my parents at the age of 31. They are both gone. They passed away two weeks apart this Sept. and Oct. of 2007. They both had cancer and had been battling it for several years. They shared a room together at the hospital and my brother and I were with them when they passed. My dad passed away surrounded by the flowers from my mother's memorial service. I never expected anything like that would happen with my family. I am in shock and I do my best each day. I can keep their memory alive by doing something great with my life. But what is that great thing that I am to carry out in this world? It may be the everyday great things that often go unnoticed. Or maybe it is something that will help many people. I don't know. But, my parents have given me so much in my lifetime it is up to me now to continue with my life and make them proud. Someday I will see them again and I want to be able to face them and know that I made them proud.

Add to My Profile | More VideosAs a kid my parents would listen to Elton John records especially at parties. This Elton John song reminds me of my mom-she's the butterfly in the song that flew away first and my dad was left behind. But then she came back for my dad and freed him from his heartache of being without her, his battling cancer, his paralysis and the enormous energy he put into keeping positive, brave and thankful to God no matter what each day brought. That's how my parents lived each day in spite of all they battled. But, now they have left this world behind and they are both flying together, happy and free.
