A native of Washington, D.C., a Howard University alumnus, and a BMI songwriter, Regina Blackburn was the featured guest on WMET's "The Heather Taylor Show" in May 2008. A six-time recipient of the prestigious Billboard Magazine Songwriting Contest, Honorable Mention Award, Regina's music began airing on London's BlueskyFM radio in 2007. 2006 ushered in the daily playing of her music on her local news station in Washington, D.C. for six consecutive months. In March 2005, Regina was the featured artist on WPFW's "Spirit in Action" program. November, 2004 brought her an Honorable Mention Award in the Songwriter's Assoc. of Washington Mid-Atlantic Songwriting Contest. In October 2004, her music played during a segment of The TODAY Show. In July 2004, she placed as a finalist in the VH-1 sponsored Song of the Year.Com. Songwriting Contest. During the day, Regina is a tv technician, but when the programs fade to black, she shines as an artist with a very special style. She won a Merit Award in the UNISONG International Song Contest of 2003, and a 2nd place winner in Nashville Tennessee's Enormous Records Songwriting Contest of 2002.
