Lindsay White

About Me

Lindsay White was born and raised in the small farming town of Corcoran, California. Influenced by the church music of her grandparents, the folk music in her dad's record player, and the female singer-songwriters of the 90's, Lindsay started writing songs and playing gigs at the age of 13. At 18, Lindsay moved to Los Angeles for college and performed in her spare time, but it wasn't until her move to San Diego at age 22 that she got serious about songwriting. Joined by the amazingly talented Joel Mendoza on percussion, Lindsay has been slowly but surely making a name for herself in the local music scene. In March 2009, she competed as one of 6 finalists in the San Diego Songwriters Guild's Songwriting Contest at The Belly Up Tavern. You can catch her this August for a repeat appearance at the North Park Music thing (formerly North by North Park). In September, she'll be back at the Belly Up competing as a finalist in Sandi Shaner's annual songwriting contest. Lindsay is becoming known for her funky footwear- because everyone's gotta have a schtick, right? And in case you'd like to donate a pair for the cause, she wears 9.5 and she likes 'em peep-toed and spiky!

Joel

Hey everyone.  For a while now, I have been wanting to add a percussionist to my set.  I know it would greatly enhance the music at shows (there's nothing like a good beat to get peoples' feet tapping...
