It was magical and changed all our lives...
Back in 1997 or so, Tony Tramontin and Chris Goode got together to write some songs and ended up recording with Sarah M. Gibbs and Todd Maney in Tony's garage. Both albums were done 2 tracks at a time on a PowerMac 7200 running at 120MHz with 128M of RAM.
At first Todd didn't have his drums so we hooked up a used Alesis DM5 to a trigger kit we built ourselves from scrap rubber, piezo buzzers from Radio Shack and some PVC tubing ($0.15/ft).
Eventually we moved to Hush studios in downtown Seattle by the Kingdome (back when it was there), Todd set up his real drums and things sounded better than ever. Is HUSH still around?
The things that made it fun were our DIY attitude and our unconditional respect for each other's unique abilities and quirks. Never been in a band like it. Rock on, Straddlecat. Rock on.
