ROCKSKOOL

Rockskool are a 5-strong rock machine bringing their very diverse music tastes and talents into one band, and playing some of their favourite most rocking tunes of all time! Get ready to wake up your tired ears, used to filtered-down Country and Western through a dodgy sound system on a Saturday night, and awaken your absolute adoration for ROCK! Drink whiskey, shout the lyrics, and forget everything else but the power of an AC/DC stormer, and the exhilaration of hearing live a Thin Lizzy classic. Come and help us honour the Gods of Rock !
A brief history... The band, originally called Crosstown, have had their fair share of members since they officially started jamming together as a band in 2002. Previous bands, going AAALLL the way back to the 80's ;), which shared the stage at gigs, were Pentagon, in which Ted played guitar and Phoenix in which Myles and Des were members.
When Phoenix split up, Des jammed with Pentagon for a while eventually forming a band under a new name. Infact four senior members of the band have shared the stage at one time or another back in the day! In 2002, after a few years (to say the least) of dust building on their lonely instruments, they decided to rekindle rock with roll. Ted, Des, Tony (soon to be replaced by Milo), Sean and Lee became Crosstown. Bass player credits go out to Griffo, Keith and most importantly Gav, but Milo has been the mainstay bass player with the finesse of a guitar maestro ! In 2005, "absolute power rock vocalist" John Dillon joined the band, replacing Lee. Grace joined as vocalist to give the band a new edge in January 2008.
Along the way, Rockskool (which replaced the name Crosstown to suit the progressively rockier, edgier sound the band was developing) have raised thousands for charities such as Crumlin & Temple Street Children's Hospital.
