Formed in 2000, Hustlers In The Struggle was originally a duo consisting of Ron Sha-Ron (Guitar/Vocals) and Barney Trouble (Keyboards/Percussion/Vocals). The band recorded a demo tape, which was widely circulated and is now out of print. After performing together for over a year, the two invited Barney Trouble's former bandmate from the group Illsboro, the notorious DJ ATM to join the band on the turntables, percussion and vocals.
The trio played on and off for the next two years, and in 2003 bassist Heaven Cent joined the group. With Heaven Cent on board, the band finally began to gel, however other obligations would put the band on hold for months at a time. During the down the time, the guys would either perform solo or with one of the members missing. Eventually the guys went their separate ways.
It looked as if the band would never perform together again, until New Found Glory bassist Ian Grushka and JMB Record$ Vice President of Marketing Barry Lustgarten, who were both huge fans, asked them play at a private party. After some heavy persuading, the band agreed and on April 14, 2004 they played their first show in over a year.
In the Spring of 2005, DJ ATM embarked on a European solo tour and upon his return the Hustlers decided it was time to add some new blood to the group. The four guys recruited guitarist and longtime friend L. Cid and drummer Jason Satan. After one practice, they knew it was a perfect fit. Less than 6 months later, Satan left the band and was replaced by LeRoy Leonard.
The band is currently in the studio recording their long awaited JMB Record$ debut "Greatest H.I.T.S."
